Coding

Date: 3rd Jul 2017 @ 2:21pm

This term, each class has been working on Coding. Can you answer these questions to support your learning and help me to understand what you enjoy most about Computing.

What have you been learning to do this term in Computing?

Have you discovered any new vocabulary linked to Coding? Can you explain what the words mean?

What have you enjoyed the most this term?

What would you like to do next?

1- I have learnt how to code games to make them work (using Purple Mash and scratch).
2- Yes. Code= Small. Algorithm= Pieces of code joined together.
A number of Algorithms run a Program.
3- I have mostly enjoyed coding.
4- I would like to learn how to make my own game.

Yes. We know the words: Code - small (like letters) , Algorithm - pieces of code joined together (like words) , Program - a number of algorithms run a program (like a sentence).
Making a game is really fun because you can test different things out and the change them if they are wrong, the formal way of saying that is debug.
I would love to improve my skills with my programming.

In this term we have been learning about scratch game and creating a multiple level game. The new vocabulary linked to coding we have learned are code-small and algorithm-pieces of code joined together. The thing i have enjoined the most about computing this term is on scratch i have learned how to make new levels and move a character one side of the screen to another as well as make two characters interact with each other. The thing i would like to do next in scratch is make levels more difficult and possibly make a maze game [which is much more difficult and complex].

1. y6 have been learning how to make a game on an app called scratch
2. yes we have discovered some new vocabulary like code whitch means small, program whitch means a number of algorithms and algorithm whitch means pieces of code joined together
3.I have enjoyed learning new things and making games for little children to play
4.I would love to teach other children how to make games on scratch

We have been creating our own game on scratch with more than 1 level. Algorithm means more than one piece of code. Code means it can't work alone. Program means lots of algorithms in one. I enjoyed making the game because I like to play them at the end. I would to make my own game with really good graphics.

New vocabulary include; code-small, algorithm- pieces of code together, program-so many algorithms stuck together to make a program, sprite-charecters in a computer games. I've enjoyed learning how long it takes and how much patience you need to make a game. I'd like to create a sequel to my game.

This term we have been learning to make our own games on scratch. We discoverd a new vocabulary this term witch is algorithm ,algorithm is pieces of code joined together .This term i mostly enjoyed making our games on scratch because i find it intresting to gather lots of codes together and then it starts to move ,talk and do much fun stuff.I would probably want to carry on making games but much harder games so i can improve on my coding .

3.I have enjoyed scratch because you can make any games and move characters and move them where ever you like and when you look for sounds it's really cool.
4.I would love to make new creations and share them with other pupils.

In computing this term we have been making games on scratch.we have learned new vocabulary such as algorithm which means pieces of code joined together. I have enjoyed making the game more challenging using levels and points. i would like to teach other people how to make their own game using scratch.

I have enjoyed making an object move one from part of the screen to the other and creating our own game on scratch.

I would like to create a fully functioning game with many levels.

Fantastic Work Year 6! Looks like you have continued on your learning journey in Computing and have progressed to coding multi-level games! Sounds exciting and I am sure that my Year 3 class would love to come in and have a go at your games sometime before we break up :)
